Kim is a serious crime specialist and has extensive experience spanning over 16 years’ in representing clients in major, high profile criminal prosecutions, including: murder, serious violent and sexual offences, large scale drug conspiracies and importations, offences against the Official Secrets Act, misconduct in a public office, serious fraud, money laundering and related POCA offences including confiscation and restraint proceedings, and has successfully defended clients subject to private prosecutions.

Kim also has significant experience in representing clients facing extradition proceedings and was the Criminal Law Correspondent for the Legal Executive Journal.

  • Acting for a client who was discharged in relation to an extradition request from Turkey, following a successful Article 3 argument.
  • Acting for a client in relation to conspiracy to import £8.5 million of Class B drugs.
  • Acting for a client in relation to a police investigation involving an alleged gang related shooting.
  • Acting for a client who was discharged in relation to an extradition request from Peru. This case was instructed by an RP who was the first of four others whose cases were all heard together.

Career

Kim began her legal career as a Trainee Legal Executive at Azzopardi & Co Solicitors, and in 2005 joined Janes Solicitors specialising in serious crime.  Kim obtained her Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 2008.

Between 2008 and 2010, Kim was a Criminal Law correspondent for the CILEx monthly legal journal.

Kim studied at the University of Westminster and the CILEX law school (distance learning programme). Kim is a member of the Female Fraud Forum and the Defence Extradition Lawyers Forum.
