Gemma advises and defends in all areas of criminal and regulatory litigation including serious fraud, money laundering, corruption, market abuse and general crime. She also represents individuals and families in inquests and public inquiries.

She has acted for many individuals in high profile criminal prosecutions including the recent corruption trial of the Pakistani cricketers.

Gemma has extensive experience in defending individuals facing investigation and prosecution by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). In 2008 she defended a father and son in one of the first cases ever brought by the FCA for insider dealing and she recently acted for a company director in the high profile Blue Index insider dealing case which involved parallel proceedings in the US.

Gemma advises individuals and businesses facing regulatory action for market abuse and alleged financial misconduct including matters before the Regulatory Decisions Committee and the Upper Tribunal. She has also advised on many cash seizure, restraint and confiscation matters including the rights of third parties.
