Corker Binning was founded in October 2000 by David Corker and Nicola Finnerty – both of whom came from a large London specialist white collar defence firm. Nicola became a partner in May 2001. Peter Binning joined them from the same firm in December 2001. Robert Brown, a highly respected general criminal lawyer, was appointed as a consultant in 2001 and became a partner in 2007. In April 2012 three new partners were appointed – Jessica Parker, Andrew Smith and Gemma Tombs, all of whom had worked at Corker Binning as senior lawyers for a number of years. In October 2013, Gemma Tombs became a consultant at the firm, and in January 2014 Nicola Finnerty retired as partner. Edward Grange joined us as a partner in June 2015. The six partners are backed by a dedicated team of associates and support staff.
Between them the partners have careers spanning the Metropolitan Police, the Crown Prosecution Service, the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) and commercial law firms. Together they have considerable experience of investigations and prosecutions mounted by all the major law enforcement bodies including the National Crime Agency, the SFO, the Financial Conduct Authority, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (formerly BERR), HM Revenue & Customs, the Health & Safety Executive, the Environment Agency and the Competition and Markets Authority.
Over the past 15 years, Corker Binning has developed an outstanding reputation as one of London’s leading law firms for specialist criminal, fraud and regulatory work. All our partners are highly regarded in their fields and are proud to have built a firm which is respected for the quality of its work and admired for its supportive and friendly culture.
The firm is committed to maintaining its founding principles – offering the highest quality legal advice to a diverse range of clients while maintaining a highly personal service and hands-on partner involvement. Corker Binning is proud of what it has achieved in its first 15 years and looks forward to the future with enthusiasm and determination.
