Gemma Tombs joined Corker Binning in 2003 and went on to complete her training contract with the firm, before successfully qualifying as a solicitor in July 2006.

Since joining the firm, Gemma has worked on a considerable range of cases from high profile general criminal proceedings to complex fraud matters. She has acted for both individuals and companies under investigation for a range of criminal and regulatory offences. Her recent work includes defending two individuals who have been prosecuted in one of the first cases ever brought by the Financial Services Authority for insider dealing.

Other cases in which Gemma has been involved include representing a defendant in a multi-million pound travel agency fraud, a solicitor charged with perverting the course of justice and an alleged conspiracy to evade tax in the construction industry. Gemma has also advised on many restraint and confiscation matters including the rights of third parties. In 2005 Gemma undertook a secondment to a large commercial firm where she was involved in corporate and commercial property transactions.

She is a committee member and past treasurer of the Young Fraud Lawyers Association and a member of the London Criminal Courts Solicitors' Association.
